How Seagate operating system SeaOS works
Take Seagate operating system SeaOS as an example:
When we take apart the circuit board of the hard drive, we can see CPU, Flash ROM and RAM, which are similar to computers and mobile phones.
Flash ROM and firmware area (firmware usage area on hard disk)
Both the Flash ROM and the fastener area are the storage space for the SeaOS system, just like the C disk of our computer and the system area of the iPhone. The old single-chip microcomputer is designed by ROM to complete the storage of the whole SeaOS, but because the price of Flash ROM is expensive, and the hard disk itself is a lot of storage space, so the new SeaOS is designed to classify and store system programs in different storage areas.
Flash ROM is equipped with a magnetic head positioning module and a module (program) pointing to the offset of the dynamic fastener area.
The fastener area on the disc of the hard disk stores information related to the location of the user area, NCR, SMART, functional modules of the CERT detection program, bad track records and various program logs, and will separate the information of the Flash ROM template.
