A schematic diagram of AMD's upcoming LGA1718 slot (also known as AM5) has surfaced, indicating that AM4-compatible CPU radiators should also be able to be installed on AM5-based motherboards.

The schematic shared by @ TtLexington comes from the blackmail software attack that attacks gigabytes. Although they are LGA (pad grid array) sockets rather than PGA (pin grid array) sockets, they have some similarities, including four mounting screws and a two-piece retaining frame attached to the circuit board. In addition, it includes an insulator and a backplane, similar to the insulator and backplane in the AM4 socket.

In addition to the schematics, a data sheet detailing the radiator design requirements / parameters of the AM5 socket is shared. If the information in this data sheet is accurate, the AM5-based SKU series will include 120W TDP and 170W TDP chips, a significant increase over the 105W TDP SKU of the AM4 series.

AM5 slots should begin to be introduced with the Ryzen 7000 series processors, which are expected to be supported by the Zen 4 core architecture. The processors are expected to be released by the end of 2022.
