Understanding of three network card modes of virtual machine: bridging, NAT and Host only
For those who have just come into contact with the virtual machine, I may not find a rule for the mode of the virtual machine network card at first. I have summed up some experience from using it and draw some pictures to show it. Please correct anything that is wrong.
I.
The bridging mode is like using a computer network card as a switch, and the virtual machine and win7 are directly connected to this switch, and the virtual machine and win7 are on the same network segment.
II.
In NAT mode, the virtual machine is bound to the virtual network card, and then the virtual network card accesses the Internet by NAT through the computer network card, and the virtual machine and the local system have different network segments.
Generally, when the NAT mode is automatically selected, the VMnet8 network card is selected as the NAT network card by default. We can also manually set a certain network card as the NAT network card, and I set VMnet1 as the NAT network card.
3.
The virtual machine is only bound to the virtual network card and does not communicate with the external network
