Xiaomi shows new liquid cooling technology
Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi has launched a new smartphone cooling solution called Loop LiquidCool technology.
While at first glance it may look like any other heat pipe design, Xiaomi believes the new technology will allow thinner smartphone designs without compromising performance.
The new design uses Tesla valves to ensure one-way flow of heat around the equipment. Xiaomi said that this design prevents heat from moving backward through the loop and doubles the heat dissipation capacity of the standard heat pipe design.
It released a video showing Genshin Impact running with the maximum setting of 60fps on standard Xiaomi Mix 4 and customized versions of the new Loop LiquidCool technology.
During the 30-minute test, the version with the new cooling solution managed to keep it more than 8 degrees lower than the standard model.
A blog article through millet release state "this new technical feature consists of evaporators, condensers, annular heat pipe systems that fill the chamber, and gas and liquid pipes." When the heat source is placed, the evaporator has refrigerant, that is, evaporation when the smartphone is at a high working load, the gas is diffused to the condenser, where the gas again condenses into a liquid. These liquids are absorbed and collected through the tiny fibers in the refill chamber-refilling the evaporator-to make it a self-sustaining system. "
The new Loop LiquidCool technology should begin to enter Xiaomi phones around the second half of 2022.
