Microsoft's patch arrives again Tuesday, when all supported versions of Windows will receive security and reliability updates. This month, Windows 11 will be updated to build 22000.493, and if you were hoping this would be the day we got Android app support, it doesn't seem to be. Like most other cumulative updates, this update focuses on security and general improvements.

In fact, all of the features Microsoft teased last month don't seem to be included here, like the new widget button. It is likely that these changes will be delivered later and get their own separate announcements.

This update is labeled KB5010386 and you can download it manually here. This is a cumulative update, meaning it will contain all the changes and fixes from Windows 11 build 22000.469. This was an optional update for January, but the changes are now included in mandatory updates, including a new Your Microsoft Account page (under Accounts) in the Settings app. There's also a new HelpWith feature that uses Bing to display certain helpful suggestions in specific areas of the Settings app.

All of the changes Microsoft highlights in its update log videos-yes, this time a video-are contained in previous updates. This includes fixing the auto hide feature of the taskbar, app icons that appear on the taskbar after closing apps, icons that don't appear on secondary displays, and more.

However, there is an issue that seems to be resolved only in Windows 11 build 22000.493, and the issue is provided in text form. Here's what the fix does:

Resolves an issue that causes Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) modification operations to fail when the operation contains SamAccountName and UserAccountControl attributes. The error message is "Error: 0x20 EF." The directory service encountered an unknown failure."
