Consumer Google will shut down

In April, it was well known that Google planned to withdraw life support from the consumer version of Google, its failed social network. But up to now, we still don't know the exact date. The date announced by Google today is April 2.

At that time, Google will start to delete all content, including Google pages, photos and videos, as well as all other content on the site. If you're one of the last Google users, or you're just nostalgic about what you posted there, it's time to download all this data.

If your company uses Google (there must be some companies using it), rest assured that you can still use it for the foreseeable future. Google has just shut down the consumer version and all Google API. In fact, API, which proved to be the primary security responsibility, will be shut down on March 7th.

This is the result. This is the curtain call for Google. The social network could have emerged when Google desperately caught up with Facebook and Twitter to integrate Google into every imaginable product. It even changes sacred search results based on social signals (which really doesn't work). The result was a disaster for Google, which took some time to correct its mistakes.
