Elden Ring vulnerabilities plunge PC players into an infinite cycle of death

According to a report from PC Gamer, Elden Ring vulnerabilities are crashing PC players' games and plunging them into an endless cycle of death.

As a video from EldenRingUpdate on Twitter shows, when an intruder activates a specific ability, an obvious hacker attack occurs, triggering some kind of failure, causing the mainframe game to crash. When players try to open the game, they find that their characters fall to death again and again.

One user on Reddit suggested a possible solution, but it didn't seem to be 100% effective. You can try to exit the game using Alt + F4 before the character dies, which should buy you more time the next time you log in. When you open the game again, quickly open the map and jump to an elegant place. If you don't get to an elegant place fast enough, the cycle will start all over again. One user on Reddit reported losing 100 hours of game time, but had no luck trying to solve it.

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have not commented on the situation, but we will update this article if we find any new information. Currently, it is best to back up your saved files and play them offline, as this is the only way to avoid intrusion.

Earlier this year, a vulnerability in Dark Soul (another game of FromSoftware and Bandai Namco) made PC players vulnerable to dangerous remote code execution attacks. At the time, players were worried that the issue might also affect Elden Ring that had not yet been released. Dark Souls's PC server has been shut down since February, so developers can resolve this issue.
