Site assignment
This article focuses on ConfigMgr site assignment. Only after the client is assigned to a CofigMgr site can ConfigMgr manage the client and the client-related components can start to work properly.

Manual assignments can be achieved in the following ways:
During installation, use SMSSITECODE=%SITECODE%
The relevant group policy management templates are included in the Group Policy,SCCM installation package, which can be imported into Active Directory and assigned to sites through the distribution of group policies.
After installing the client, manually set the site automatic assignment through the ConfigMgr tab in the control panel
The automatic site assignment process is as follows:
The client first tries to query the boundary group information published to the Active Directory according to its own Active Directory, IP and IP Subnet. If the boundary group has the site assignment feature enabled, the client knows the Code of the site to which it belongs.
If the Active Directory schema is not extended, or if the computer is not a member of Active Directory, query the Code of the site to which you belong through SLP
If the client still does not get its own site Code, the client will switch to the rollback site
When the client obtains its own site Code, it will query whether the corresponding site is compatible with the currently installed client version through Active Directory or management point. If the compatibility check fails, the site assignment fails.
SLP
SLP (Server locator point) can be located by the management point parameter, DNS suffix, or WINS specified when the client is installed.
