TV show survey hackers prefer to use Python, which is probably the best language in the world.

Python is becoming more and more popular, and in the previous September TIOBE rankings, Python even edged out Centrals to take third place. This is partly due to hackers' enthusiasm for Python.

According to Threatpost, a recent survey by Imperva found that more than 20% of the network attack tools or PoC (proof of concept) code in GitHub code base are written in Python, indicating that Python is the first choice for hackers to develop network attack tools.

Imperva pointed out: "there are a large number of topic about network security or information security in GitHub, and almost every major code base in related topic is written in Python, such as Sqlmap, w3af, AutoSploit and so on."

As for web clients, more than 25 per cent of client programs are Python-based tools used by hackers without counting vulnerability scanning applications.

At present, the two most popular Python modules for network attacks are Urllib and Python Requests. In addition, Python is often used to capture specific applications and frameworks, such as Struts and WordPress.

Imperva's monitoring data also show that 77 per cent of all website attacks between the end of June and mid-September this year used attack tools written in Python. The data also show that Python tools are responsible for performing the main attack tasks in more than 1Compact 3 cyber attacks.

Imperva said: "as a programming language, Python has great advantages in the field of information security, one of the important reasons is that a lot of exploit code PoC is written in Python."
