Messenger user accounts are now more secure

In a new blog post released this week, Facebook announced some additional features of Messenger. In particular, we learned that we now have the option to encrypt end-to-end calls, whether it's an oral conversation or visios. Some competing applications already offer this service, such as Telegram or Signal, which are also favored by many people because of their confidentiality.

Another change announced by Parlo Alto involves content sent to people who can destroy themselves. Automatic deletion time can now be selected from five seconds to 24 hours. It's not clear when these benefits will be available, but Messenger on Mac App Store doesn't seem to have been updated.

In the case of iPhone, however, version 325.1 of the application, released on Wednesday, August 11, mentions "fixing bugs" and "performance improvements to eliminate latency." As for the Android version of the service, according to the Google Play store, the latest version is this Thursday. As a result, the French may still have to wait hours or days to take advantage of the changes provided by Facebook.

Messenger will also welcome end-to-end encryption of its groups in the coming weeks. This feature is retroactive, so it also involves multi-party conversations that have been created previously.

Finally, the Instagram social network has the right to make similar changes: this time, its DM will be protected in the same way. First of all, the test is limited to adult users in a few countries, and the developer has not yet specified a list. For example, Facebook Dating first launched in Canada and Thailand, and then eventually turned this article into Europe.
