John the Ripper is an open source password cracking tool that can quickly analyze plaintext passwords when ciphertext is known, and allows the use of password dictionaries to crack. The first step is to see if the desired folder has been shared.

The host is shared and the files we need are mounted to the local server.

Extract the john-1.8.0tar.gz package where the script we are going to use is located.

Because the core of Linux is developed by C and C++, we have to install C and C++ compilers to compile the source package.

Compile the source package so that the script can be run.

Execute a script to detect weak passwords on the server, so that the passwords of users with weak passwords can be clearly displayed, so that we can know which passwords are less secure and reduce the likelihood that our passwords will be deciphered.
