I wonder if you have ever encountered Windows Search, that is, the system search component that comes with Vista is damaged without any reason. Unfortunately, I just met a few days ago, for a person who needs to use search frequently, the day without search is simply unbearable.

Now, the Fix it team has responded and provided a download of the fix tool, a .msi tool, that is, double-click to run it. So how does this tool work?

-for Vista only

-stop the Windows Search service

-set this service startup type to "automatic"

-set the value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows Search\ SetupCompletedSuccessfully to 0

-restart the service

In addition, it is worth mentioning that this is Microsoft's first MVP Fix it tool. The so-called MVP is Microsoft Most Valuable Professor, that is, an expert certified by Microsoft. Pay attention, ah, it is a real expert, not a "brick expert".
