On a more practical side, adding it makes sense because it allows people to stream music in a more flexible way. This would allow two pairs of headphones to be connected to an iPhone, which would be a great way for two people to share music, or connect an iPhone to a car audio system and a set of earbuds.

Rumors don't emphasize which new iPhones will get the new feature, but Apple is expected to roll it out to all new iPhones, not just some iPhones-which could be more expensive.
