Intel will merge its smartphone and tablet businesses with the PC post business. The merger of the two companies will be completed in early 2015 and aims to make the operations of the tech giants more efficient in today's vibrant market.

Chipmakers have been trying to destroy money in Qualcomm-led smartphones and tablets. Although 40 million tablet processors were shipped this year, Intel's mobile division lost $12.04 billion in the third quarter because of high subsidies to device makers.

Kirk Skaugen, the current head of Intel's PC business, will travel to the new division. At present, mobile phones and tablet printers will contribute to the transformation within the company and take different positions.
