The company announced on its support page that it will support some older versions for the next six months. "As part of a global community, we want to contribute to alleviating the pressures our customers are currently facing.

To that end, we delayed initial support and service dates to help people and organizations focus on maintaining business continuity. The company originally planned to end support for version 1709 (Enterprise, Education, IoT Enterprise) today, with a final update due October 13, 2020.

After that, the company originally planned to release the final security update for Windows 10 on May 12, 2020, version 1809 (Home, Pro, Pro Education, Pro for Workstation, IoT Core), but it will now be released on November 10, 2020.

Microsoft also temporarily halted feature updates for the Home and Professional editions. The restart process will be significantly slowed and closely monitored to provide sufficient time for a smooth update process until the end-of-service date is postponed to November 10, 2020, the company said.

The support date for version 1810 has also been postponed from May 27, 2020 to December 1, 2020. Finally, Server 2010, SharePoint Foundation 2010 and Project Server 2010 will also be available by December 2020. In addition, Microsoft postponed plans to disable basic authentication until the second half of 2021 in exchange for users who are still actively using the feature.
