Microsoft team updates will reduce all unnecessary meeting administrators
Microsoft is developing a new feature for its collaboration platform Teams that will make it easier for users to create videoconferencing immediately. According to the entries in the company's product roadmap, the upcoming Teams update will introduce the ability to create an instant "meet now" link that can be used to start a session directly.
This feature mimics similar options available in Google Meet, allowing users to bypass administrators associated with creating calendar entries (that is, filling in times and dates, selecting attendees, and so on). . Instead, simply click on the create meeting link and distribute it through a team channel or chat.
As videoconferencing has become part of professional experience during the pandemic, any opportunity to reduce the bureaucracy of conference organization is likely to be welcomed.
Although creating a full calendar tag is still a better option if a large number of attendees are present or if the meeting is not set up within a few days, the new "meet now" feature will be ideal for quick check-in.
It is reported that in addition to the new instant meeting option, Microsoft is also committed to simplifying the process of joining scheduled meetings through the e-mail service Outlook.
The current process is unnecessarily delayed, requiring users to start the meeting link in their web browser, which in turn starts the team desktop client, but no further confirmation is required.
However, the company will eliminate these unnecessary extra steps by adding a simple "join the meeting" button that allows users to make calls directly from their Outlook window.
