Google email Protector (Google adds spam detection and verification business SMS to email)

Companies usually send one-time passwords, account reminders and reservation confirmations in text. However, if you have ever received one of them, you will know that they usually come from random numbers, and bad actors can take advantage of this advantage to disguise phishing fraud as one of these messages. In order to protect users, Google will soon verify the text messages of registered companies.

When you receive a message from an authenticated enterprise, you will see the company name, logo, and authentication badge in the message clue. Enterprises must register to use authentication text messages. So far, 1-800-Flowers, Banco Bradesco, Kayak, return and SoFi have been installed. Authentication text messages are gradually being introduced in Brazil, Canada, France, Mexico, the Philippines, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Google has also added real-time spam detection. When Google suspects that an email is spam, it displays a spam warning in the email. You can help improve this feature by reporting spam and ensuring legitimate business.

All this complements Google's rich communications service (RCS), which was launched last month. With this feature, some Android users can get more messaging privileges, such as chatting through Wi-Fi, sending high-quality messages, and getting reading receipts.
