IOS14.2 may shorten the battery life by half an hour and consume more than 50%.

Apple has previously pushed the official iOS14.2.1 upgrade to iPhone12 users, and many users have said that their battery life has been improved after the upgrade.

Recently, however, many users have complained on Apple developer forums and Reddit that upgrading the iOS14.2 has led to shorter battery life on Apple devices.

Some users say that after upgrading their phones to iOS14.2, their devices consume more than 50% of their power in less than half an hour and take longer to recharge. The models affected are the iPhone XS,iPhone7,iPhone6S and the first-generation iPhone SE. At present, the problem has not been fixed.

It is reported that the third developer and public beta of iOS14.3 and iPadOS14.3 have been released, so Apple may address this issue in the update. It is said that the third major update to iOS14 will bring support for the Apple ProRAW format as well as improvements to home, health and weather.

Users with older devices are advised not to upgrade iOS14.2 for the time being until this issue is resolved.
