Apple pushes iOS 13.4 Beta 1 to support CarKey

Apple released iOS 13.4 Beta 1 to developers this morning. According to foreign media reports, this update adds an interesting new feature that allows users to turn their iPhone into a car key.

Apple has added the CarKey API to iOS 13.4 Beta 1. According to system documents, users will be able to unlock the vehicle using the iPhone/Apple Watch with the help of an NFC chip inside the car, simply by placing the iPhone/Apple Watch close to the vehicle, without the need for Face ID verification. This feature is only available for NFC-compatible cars.

This isn't the first attempt to use a phone as a car key: Hyundai already offers apps that turn any smartphone into a car key. Not only that, the key can be shared with four other people, and the owner can start the car remotely using his smartphone.
