The company announced that eero Pro tri-band WiFi routers now support automatic dynamic Frequency selection (DFS) with Canadian users. Eer OOS 3. 19. Version 0 provides this new feature, providing higher reliability and speed, and helping to reduce interference. The latest version of the software is automatically installed on the router, which also brings bug fixes and stability improvements.

In short, dynamic frequency selection enables eero Pro routers to use some 5GHz channels that are usually reserved for critical services such as radar, thereby alleviating congestion and improving network reliability and performance. Mr Ayrault describes it as similar to using empty fast lanes on highways to allow traffic to enter new lanes and reduce congestion in other lanes.

DFS works by monitoring these channels and ensuring that they do not have radar signals before they are used. When these radar signals fall along the pipeline, the router must close the channel in order to receive the signal first. By doing so, routers can take advantage of available channels without disrupting other critical services that use them.

The eerpro node has two 5GHz radios, one of which can monitor the channel and the other can provide services for network traffic. Users can use or enable this feature without any action-once eer OOS 3. 0 is installed on the device. 19. Version 0, which will be automatically available in Canada.

The router has the automatic Channel selection (ACS) function, which can check the channel condition to determine whether the DFS channel can be used, or if there is a signal requiring the router to use another channel for a period of time. The ACS feature selects the best channel for your home network and then performs a channel availability check (CAC) to ensure that it can be transmitted on that channel.

Overall, eero says customers can expect "a better connectivity experience".
