Some people would think that if not most users, at least a large number of users have Android 12 installed. Indeed, months have passed since the latest version of Google's operating system was released, and manufacturers are unveiling their shells one by one. But it is wrong to understand the deployment habit of Android, which has tended to extend over time in recent years.

So it's not surprising to know that only 2.6% of users migrate to Android 12. The figure comes from a survey conducted by Uptodown, an alternative store for Google Play, with 130 million users. In fact, the operating system ranks fifth among the most popular operating systems. Unsurprisingly, Android 11 topped the list with 29.5% of users.

The latter was followed by Android 10 (25.2%), followed by Android 9 (11.5%), and then Oreo,Android version 8.1 (11%). As mentioned above, these results are not uncommon. Traditionally, the version before the latest version is still more popular than this one. This is especially true of Android 11 in 2021, which lags behind Android 10 for a long time, even though 1/4 of users have adopted it.

So it's only a matter of time before Android 12 takes up the majority of smartphones. On the one hand, it takes all manufacturers to develop their user interfaces; on the other hand, users do feel the need. In addition, Uptodown reveals the most popular smartphone brands. Samsung took the lead with 31.62% of the vote, followed by Xiaomi and Huawei with 16.31% and 11.07%, respectively. Finally, the most commonly used browser is Chrome, which is well ahead of competitors with 83.6 per cent of users.
