Mozilla just announced the Firefox 12 web browser for Apple's iOS mobile platform, bringing a host of new productivity features to iPad and iPhone users. This update focuses on multitasking and improving efficiency, such as downloading files for subsequent offline reading. All offline downloads are easily accessible from the main menu. "when you need to leave the office but don't want to come back to read the text (or continue to watch it on the road), we now support downloading files to your mobile device," Mozilla wrote in the announcement.

interested friends can first download the file to the device, then access it and share it in the main menu, where you can see a folder containing all downloads.

Firefox 12 for iOS also introduces a new "one-stop" offline reading menu.

there, users can choose what they want to do with saved links, such as opening them in Firefox, adding them to reading lists or bookmarks, loading them in the background, and then sending them to a networked Firefox device.

Last but not most important, Firefox 12 for iOS has added a new option to the main menu to tell the user whether the web browser has completed synchronization.

if the device is not synchronized, the user can easily choose to log in and start synchronizing all bookmarks, passwords, history, etc.
