How to use Raspberry Pi to create Zoom meeting Live Lamp
Working from home, I needed a way to make sure I wasn't interrupted when I was on the phone or attending important meetings-and what better way to do that than to have live lights where everyone was present? My home. I'm busy. I mostly use Zoom for my conference calls, so today we're going to use Zoom API, Raspberry Pi, and some programmable LEDs to make automatic, zoom detected broadcast lights. If you're just getting started with Pis or electronics, this is a great first Raspberry Pi project-here's how you do it.
What do you need for this project?
Raspberry Pi 4 or Raspberry Pi 3 or Raspberry Pi Zero with Power Adapter
8 GB(or larger)microSD card with Raspberry Pi OS. See our list of the best microSD cards for Raspberry Pi.
Small wooden item boxes and veneer with lid
Drill bits and drill bit sets
Soldering iron and solder
WS281x 5v LED
At least 3 jumpers
printer and paper
Hot glue and hot glue gun
A zoom account
Double-sided adhesive tape or stick
How to Make Raspberry Pi "Air" Lights
Before you start, make sure you have Raspberry Pi OS set up. If you haven't done this before, see our article on how to set up a Raspberry Pi for the first time or how to do a headless Raspberry Pi installation (without keyboard and screen).
