Samsung's first portable projector, Freestyle, was unveiled on CES 2022 earlier this month. This interesting device was pre-ordered in the United States on January 4, and it seems to have been a good success. The South Korean company announced that The Freestyle had received more than 10000 pre-orders in the first month.

Freestyle is currently available in Latin America, North America and South Korea for $899. It can project images up to 100 inches on any plane. The equipment is small (only 830 grams) and cylindrical. Because its 180-degree rotatable head, its light source can be placed at any angle.

It has full HD resolution and supports HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG standards. Thanks to autofocus and built-in self-calibration, Freestyle can perform automatic trapezoidal distortion correction to achieve perfect image quality. It adjusts color, contrast, and brightness based on surface and ambient lighting.

Samsung's new portable projector runs Tizen OS and has built-in support for various audio and video streaming services such as Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, Prime Video and Samsung TV+. With AirPlay 2 and Miracast, it can also mirror smartphone screens. It has built-in digital voice assistants (Alexa and Bixby) and a SmartThings control center.

The Freestyle has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2 (dual audio support), and 5W speakers. It can be powered by an AC adapter or a 60W USB-PD power supply (or mobile power supply). The device supports a variety of accessories and brackets.
