CTOnews.com August 11 news, today, IDC released a report that the total investment in global cyber security IT in 2021 is $168.77 billion (about 1.14 trillion yuan), and is expected to increase to $287.57 billion (about 1.94 trillion yuan) in 2026, with a five-year compound growth rate (CAGR) of 11.3 percent.

From the perspective of the Chinese market, IDC expects China's cyber security IT expenditure to reach $31.86 billion (about 214.418 billion yuan) in 2026, accounting for about 11.1% of the global share and 21.2% of CAGR in five years.

CTOnews.com learned that the report points out that during the five-year forecast period from 2022 to 2026, the user structure of China's network security market terminal industry is relatively stable, with the government, finance and telecommunications industries accounting for the largest proportion. It is estimated that by 2026, the combined expenditure of the three will exceed $19.22 billion (about 129.351 billion yuan), accounting for more than 60% of China's total spending on cyber security.

In terms of technology application, the report predicts that in the next five years, the growth rate of the software market will lead the security market, and the software will develop rapidly with a five-year CAGR of 25.0%. It is estimated that by 2026, the software market will account for 40% of the total expenditure of IT in China's network security market.

At the same time, the hardware market and service market will continue to maintain steady growth. The data show that over the next five years, the security hardware market will gradually grow with a five-year CAGR of 17.0%. It is estimated that by 2026, the hardware market will exceed 10 billion US dollars. Among them, unified threat management (Unified Threat Management) products still dominate the hardware market.

In addition, China's security services market will maintain steady growth in the next five years, with service expenditure expected to reach $8.61 billion (about 57.945 billion yuan) in 2026 and CAGR of about 21.6 percent in five years.
