According to data released by the China charging Alliance, the number of public charging piles in China reached 1.575 million in July, an increase of 47000 from the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 65.7 per cent. As of July this year, members of the alliance have reported a total of 1.575 million public charging piles, including 684000 DC charging piles, 890000 AC charging piles and 485 AC / DC integrated charging piles.

By region, Guangdong Province ranks first with the number of 344000 public charging piles, while Shanghai and Jiangsu Province rank second and third with the number of 112000 public charging piles. And the top ten areas with the largest number of public charging piles in China account for 71.7% of the public charging piles in the country. In addition, the national charging electricity is mainly concentrated in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Fujian, Hebei, Shaanxi, Shanghai, Hubei, Hunan and other provinces, and the electricity is mainly used for buses and passenger cars. Sanitation logistics vehicles, taxis and other vehicles account for relatively small.

In terms of operators, special calls topped the list of operators as of July this year, operating a total of 295000 charging piles. Star charging followed closely, operating a total of 293000 charging piles. State Grid ranks third, operating a total of 196000 charging piles.

In addition, in July 2022, the country's total rechargeable electricity was about 2.19 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 260 million kilowatt-hours over the previous month, an increase of 125.2 percent over the same period last year, and an increase of 13.7 percent from the previous month. As of July 2022, the cumulative number of charging infrastructure in the country was 3.98 million, an increase of 97.5% over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that according to the National Energy Administration on August 2, 1.3 million new charging piles were added in the first half of the year, 3.8 times that of the same period last year.
