CTOnews.com8, March 20 (Xinhua)-- when it launched its Galaxy Watch 4 smartwatch series last year, Samsung turned to the Wear OS camp, boosting Wear OS's market share from 4% to 17% in the third quarter of last year. Faced with such a huge market share, Google has been upgrading Wear OS to enhance the user experience.

Google may improve the matching experience of smartwatches with Wear OS, XDA reported today. Recently, XDA developers have APK dismantled Google Play Services v22.32.12 beta and unpacked the "Back up your device with Google One (backup your device using Google One)" code, which means that Google may in the future allow users to back up watch data before pairing a new phone with a Wear OS watch.

Currently, Wear OS watches need to be restored to factory settings if they want to pair up with a new phone. If Google launches the watch backup function in the future, it will greatly improve the user experience. However, the code disassembled this time only shows that the feature is in the early stage of development and may not be actually launched.

CTOnews.com learned that on March 16, 2018, Google announced that its smartwatch operating system, Android Wear, would be renamed Wear OS in 2014.

Google unveiled Pixel Watch smartwatch and Pixel 7 phones at its 2022 I / O developer conference on May 12 this year, and indicated that the Pixel 7 series will be launched this fall, so Wear OS's new features are likely to be launched when the phone is released.
