CTOnews.com August 21 news, today, the Science Committee of the Future Science Awards announced the winners of the 2022 awards on August 21, with Li Wenhui, Yang Xueming and Mo Yiming winning the awards.

Among them, Li Wenhui won the Life Science Award for his discovery that the receptor of hepatitis B and D virus infection is sodium ion-taurocholic acid cotransporter (NTCP), which contributes to the development of more effective drugs for the treatment of hepatitis B and D.

Yang Xueming won the material Science Award for his research and development of a new generation of cross molecular beam scientific instruments with high resolution and high sensitivity for quantum state resolution, revealing the achievements of quantum resonance and geometric phase effects in chemical reactions.

Mo Yiming won the Mathematics and computer Science Award for establishing the theory of minimal rational tangent clusters (VMRT) and solving a series of conjectures in the field of algebraic geometry and proving Ax-Schanuel conjectures on Shimura clusters.

CTOnews.com learned that the Future Science Awards were established in 2016 and co-sponsored by a group of scientists and entrepreneurs. The Future Science Awards focus on original basic scientific research and reward scientists (regardless of nationality) who have made outstanding scientific and technological achievements in mainland China (mainland), Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

At present, the Future Science Awards have three major awards, namely, the Life Science Award, the material Science Award and the Mathematics and computer Science Award, with a single prize of 6.75 million yuan (equivalent to US $1 million).
