CTOnews.com, Aug. 22 (Xinhua)-- Rockstar Games has issued copyright warnings to two videos of former GTA developer Mike Dailly because the latter shows early development materials, according to VGC.

The developer, one of the founders of DMA Design (now Rockstar North), said via Twitter: "I saw Rockstar go back into 'total asshole' mode and issue copyright warnings to any GTA videos they can find-including two of my prototype videos."

"so they are now trying to prevent everyone from posting relevant game content, as well as all early development footage," Dailly said. This prototype video shows an early version of GTA, which was created in the mid-1990s.

There is little development documentation related to GTA, but some of the older developers who worked on DMA in the early days have released some behind-the-scenes development videos in recent years. Dailly's claim suggests that Rockstar is cracking down on these videos. Rockstar has not commented on the matter.

CTOnews.com learned that data show that Grand Theft Auto V had sold more than 165 million copies as of March 31, 2022. Take-Two has previously said that more than 375m copies of the entire GTA series have been sold.
