CTOnews.com August 22 news, Shanghai City Communications Administration issued an announcement today, in accordance with the "Network Security Law,""Telecommunications Regulations,""Telecommunications and Internet users personal information protection provisions" and other laws and regulations, in accordance with the "on the implementation of in-depth promotion of App infringement user rights and interests special rectification action notice"(Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Xinguan [2020] No.164) Work deployment, our bureau recently organized a third-party inspection agency to inspect the infringement of users 'rights and interests by App applications in this city.

The announcement said that 127 apps were found to have problems such as "illegal collection of personal information,""illegal use of personal information,""cheating and misleading users to download apps," and that the Shanghai City Communications Administration had notified relevant App operators and urged the problematic apps to rectify.

So far, 31 apps have not been rectified, and the rectification work should be implemented by August 29. If rectification is not made within the time limit, Shanghai City Communications Administration Bureau will organize and carry out disposal work according to laws and regulations.
