On the morning of August 30, Beijing time, it was reported that on Monday, local time, Robert Kyncl, the longtime chief commercial officer (CBO) of YouTube, announced that he would leave the mainstream US social video platform. Previously, he had worked in the company for more than 12 years.

The company confirmed that Mary Ellen Coe, president of Google's global customer solutions, will take over as chief business officer of YouTube in early October. Kinchil will stay at YouTube temporarily to help with the transition.

YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki (Susan Wojcicki) thanked Ginger on Twitter that day.

"We owe a lot of our growth and influence to your leadership," Wojcicki wrote. "I am pleased to welcome Mary Ellen Coe as the new chief business officer of YouTube. Mary Ellen's career at Google has been committed to making partners more successful, and I know she will do the same for YouTube creators, partners and users!"

Kinchil joined Google's video platform in the third quarter of 2010 after serving as vice president of content at Netflix for nearly eight years.

According to reports, Wojcicki Zhou sent an internal memo to YouTube employees. Under Ginger's leadership, YouTube has established "new partnerships in music, traditional media and technology" and has "paid more than $30 billion to creators, artists and media companies over the past three years," the memo said.

Mr Kinchil's experience at Netflix and YouTube has made him the first choice for traditional media executives, including Bob Iger, the former Disney chief executive, who have shifted their business to consumer-oriented streaming services.

Mary Ellen Coe, the incoming chief business officer, has been working at Google since 2012 and has been president of Google's global customer solutions since early 2017. Before joining the search giant, she was a partner at McKinsey.

She also served on the board of multinational healthcare company Merck and on the board of whole Foods, a grocery company that was acquired by Amazon.

Google did not respond to a request for comment.
