Netflix poached two Snap executives: in charge of advertising sales

According to news in the morning of August 31, Beijing time, streaming giant Netflix announced on Tuesday that it had hired two senior executives from Snap to lead its advertising sales team, which earned the company credibility among brand marketers.

Netflix confirmed that it had hired Jeremi Gorman, Snap's chief commercial officer, as its new president of global advertising, and Peter Naylor, vice president of advertising sales at Snap, for the same position in streaming services.

The hiring of the two senior industry executives marks Netflix's commitment to building a version of its advertising-backed streaming service, which is expected to be launched next year.

Gorman is a highly respected executive who previously worked at Amazon for six years. She joined Snap in 2018, when the company was losing executives. Her arrival is seen as bringing credibility to Snap's advertising sales business.

Narai joined Snap in 2020 after six years as senior vice president of advertising sales at Hulu. He tried to help Snap earn more TV advertising revenue.

Snap confirmed the departure of the two executives but declined to comment further.

Netflix has been integrating parts to launch a cheap streaming service with advertising. In July this year, the company announced a partnership with Microsoft to provide advertising technology. The new executives will build good relationships with advertisers who want to advertise on Netflix.
