CTOnews.com, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) according to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple's privacy chief Jane Horvath will leave the company to join a law firm. Prior to serving as Apple's chief privacy officer for the past few years, Horvath was the company's senior global privacy director.

Horvath has worked at Apple for more than a decade, she has also worked at Google, and is the chief privacy officer of the U.S. Department of Justice. Looking ahead, Horvath will work at Gibson, Dunn, and and Crutcher LLP, a law firm that has worked with Apple in the past and has dealt with Apple's recent legal dispute with Epic Games.

During his tenure as chief privacy officer, Horvath has publicly released privacy-related content on behalf of Apple, including the CES in 2020 and the 2022 computer, Privacy and data Protection Conference in Brussels.

CTOnews.com has learned that Apple has been dealing with major potential privacy issues recently and is facing weakening App Store controls in several countries. Europe's Digital Market Act requires App to be flanked, while the United States is considering legislation to do the same. Apple has yet to provide information about its new chief privacy officer.
