Meta bought Lofelt, a German-based tactile feedback start-up, a few weeks ago, but Meta only made it public in an interview today, the Wall Street Journal reported today.

Lofelt has previously developed tools for tactile feedback technology on mobile and PlayStation 5 games, but the company announced in July that it would stop supporting these products. It is reported that the main purpose of Meta's acquisition of Lofelt is to achieve Meta's related goals in the field of virtual reality and to continue to cultivate the meta-universe experience.

CTOnews.com learned that the acquisition comes at a time when Meta is locked in a legal dispute with the Federal Trade Commission (Federal Trade Commission). In July, the Federal Trade Commission filed a lawsuit asking the court to prevent Meta from acquiring Within Unlimited, a maker of virtual reality fitness software.

Yesterday, lawyers for the Federal Trade Commission said it had asked its internal court to force Meta and its founder Mark Zuckerberg to obtain FTC approval before making any future deals.
