CTOnews.com September 4 news, according to China Guangzhou Nuclear Group official micro, September 2, CGNPC Zhejiang Sanao nuclear power project unit 2 conventional island main project started.

According to China Guangzhou Nuclear Power Group, Sanao Nuclear Power Project plans to build 6 units of "Hualong No.1" with third-generation nuclear power technology with independent intellectual property rights of China. Units 1 and 2 of Phase I Project will be started on December 31,2020 and December 30,2021 respectively.

CTOnews.com learned that at present, the engineering design of Phase I of Sanao Nuclear Power Project has been basically completed, equipment procurement has been completed 95%, and the project construction has entered its peak period. The design life of "Hualong No.1" nuclear power technology adopted by the project is 60 years, and the safety system combining "active and passive" and double-layer containment technology are adopted.

According to introduction, Unit 2 of Sanao Nuclear Power Project is the first nuclear power unit started construction during the 14th Five-Year Plan period of Zhejiang Province. After the completion of all 6 units of Sanao Nuclear Power Project, the annual power generation capacity will reach 52.5 billion kWh, which will reduce the standard coal consumption by 15.88 million tons and reduce carbon dioxide emission by 43.68 million tons every year.
