CTOnews.com learned that a magnitude 6. 8 earthquake struck Luding County in Ganzi, Sichuan Province at 12:52 on September 5. Luding County and Shimian County in Ya'an City were severely affected by the earthquake. As of 7: 00 on September 6, 37 people in Ganzi Prefecture and 28 people in Shimian County in Ya'an City had been killed, and infrastructure such as water, electricity, transportation and communications were damaged. At present, the Sichuan earthquake Relief headquarters has launched a first-level emergency response; local charitable organizations have launched an initiative to the whole society, calling for assistance to the disaster areas.
