CTOnews.com Sept. 7, New Oriental and Oriental selection announced the donation of 5 million yuan in cash to Sichuan earthquake-stricken areas to support earthquake relief and post-disaster reconstruction work in the affected areas.

On September 5, 2022, an earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Luding County of Ganzi and Shimian County of Ya'an City were seriously affected by the disaster.

On September 7, New Oriental and Oriental announced that they would donate 5 million yuan in cash to Sichuan earthquake-stricken areas to support earthquake relief and post-disaster reconstruction work in the affected areas.

CTOnews.com learned that 12:52 on September 5, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province (29.59N, 102.08 E) with a focal depth of 16km. As of 21:00 on Sept. 6, the Luding earthquake in Sichuan Province had killed 74 people, including 40 in Ganzi Prefecture and 34 in Ya'an City.
