Today, Sony PlayStation officially announced the worldwide launch of 1440p video output function.

Sony said that thanks to the PS5 beta participants for their support and feedback, today we will launch new system software updates to PS5 players around the world. The update includes several high-profile features, such as 1440p HDMI video output, game lists, and social functions.

CTOnews.com learned that 1440p HDMI video output support allows players to choose additional visual settings on compatible PC monitors and televisions. If the game you are playing supports 1440p rendering, you can experience the native 1440p output on the monitor; if the game you are playing has a higher raw resolution (such as 4K), then the player can reduce it to 1440p output by oversampling.

In addition, PS5 is testing support for creating game lists, making it easier for players to organize games. Players can create up to 15 game lists, add up to 100 games to each game list, and rename the game list, just like the game folder.
