The Canadian Minister of Industry said he was in talks with Tesla about building a factory, officials confirmed.

According to CTOnews.com9 news, at Tesla's annual meeting on August 4 this year, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that Tesla may announce plans to build a new factory this year, and he expects Tesla to eventually have 10 to 12 giant factories.

As for the location of the new factory, Musk has hinted that he prefers Canada. "We have a lot of Canadians and I am half Canadian," he told shareholders at Tesla's annual meeting. "maybe I should (set up a factory in Canada)?"

Canadian Industry Minister Francois-Philip Shang Pengfei (Francois-Philippe Champagne) said in an interview with the media that he was in talks with Tesla and other automakers, Reuters reported today. "I think Canada is becoming the first choice for the automotive and aerospace industries," he said. " When asked about Tesla's plans to build a factory in Canada, he said: "Yes, I am talking to them, and I am also talking to other carmakers."
