Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Xiao Zhan for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, September 9 (Xinhua)-- Huawei released a series of Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro phones on Tuesday, which are equipped with super-light-variable XMAGE images, ultra-reliable Kunlun glass and pre-installed Hongmeng HarmonyOS 3.0. One of the most important features is the "up-to-the-sky" technology, which is the world's first mass smartphone to support Beidou satellite messages.

According to Huawei, Huawei's Mate 50 series is the first mass smartphone in the world to support Beidou satellite message. without ground network coverage, it can still send messages through the "Beidou Satellite message" service in Changlian App, keep in touch with the outside world, and support one-click generation of trajectory maps.

In addition, all brands of mobile phones can receive Beidou satellite messages (ordinary text messages) when there is a network on the ground. if you are a Huawei mobile phone and Changlian version is 2.1.23.327 or above, you can also receive satellite messages through Changlian (card mode).

Of course, this feature is only available in Chinese mainland regions (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), and only supported by Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, Mate 50 RS Porsche designs (excluding Mate 50e).

Now, when introducing this feature, Huawei officials also mentioned that other models can also support satellite communications through software upgrades, such as Huawei Mate Xs 2, which will be supported later, while other models cannot support this function through software upgrades, that is, hardware limitations.

CTOnews.com learned that Huawei Mate Xs 2 is the industry's first phone to support tri-band Wi-Fi, supporting dual 5GHz bands + 2.4GHz bands, and the theoretical peak rate has reached 4Gbps. Yu Chengdong said earlier: "this is the fastest mobile phone in Wi-Fi at present."

In the core configuration, Huawei Mate Xs 2 features a 7.8inch screen with a resolution of 2480mm 2200 and a folded screen size of 6.5in. It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G processor and starts at 9999 yuan.
