China charging Alliance: the national charging infrastructure increased by 1.698 million units from January to August, and the increment of public charging piles increased by 232.9% compared with the same period last year.
CTOnews.com Sept. 11, the latest data from China charging Union show that there are 48000 more public charging piles in August 2022 than in July, and an increase of 64.8 percent in August compared with the same period last year. From September 2021 to August 2022, about 53000 new public charging piles have been added every month.
In terms of charging infrastructure, from January to August 2022, the increment of charging infrastructure was 1.698 million, of which the increment of public charging piles increased by 232.9 percent over the same period last year, while the increment of private charging piles built with cars continued to increase by 540.5 percent. As of August 2022, the cumulative number of charging infrastructure in the country was 4.315 million, an increase of 105.0% over the same period last year.
CTOnews.com learned that data from the China Automobile Association showed that in August, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 691,000 and 666000 respectively, with monthly production and sales reaching another all-time high, with production and sales increasing by 1.2 times and 100% respectively compared with the same period last year. Of these, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles completed 536,000 and 522000 respectively, an increase of 1.1% and 92.9% respectively over the same period last year; the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles reached 155,000 and 144000 respectively, an increase of 1.7 times and 1.6 times respectively over the same period last year; and the production and sales of fuel cell vehicles completed 97 and 255 respectively, an increase of 1.4% and 5.7% respectively over the same period last year.
From January to August, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 3.97 million and 3.86 million respectively, an increase of 1.2 times and 1.1 times respectively over the same period last year. Of these, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles completed 3.11 million and 3.04 million respectively, double that of the same period last year; the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles completed 857 million and 818000 respectively, an increase of 1.9 times and 1.7 times respectively over the same period last year; and 2000 fuel cell vehicles, up 2 times and 1.6 times respectively over the same period last year.
