Musk bombarded the gasoline car again: it's the next steam engine.
Beijing, September 13 (Xinhua) Tesla CEO Musk recently tweeted that gasoline cars will not be able to get rid of the fate of steam engines, and that their value is far less than people think.
"soon, we will look at gasoline cars in the same way as steam engines," he said. "the residual value of gasoline cars purchased today will be much lower than people think."

Later, a netizen posted a meme saying that Musk in 1995 was repairing his old BMW, while Musk in 2022 was "repairing" the 160-year-old auto industry.
In July, when Herbert Diess, the Volkswagen CEO who pushed the electric car, left early, Musk commented on Twitter that self-driving electric cars would be the most important. A gasoline car without self-driving was like riding a horse and using a flip phone.
Yu Chengdong, managing director of Huawei and BU CEO of smart car solutions, has made similar comments. At the 2022 Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Auto Show, he said bluntly that the era of pure fuel cars would soon end, and that buying fuel cars now is tantamount to buying functional phones in the era of smartphones.
