Arm launches Neoverse V2, a new generation of data center chip technology, and Nvidia is the first to adopt

In response to the explosive growth of 5G data and networking devices, Arm announced the launch of the next-generation data center chip technology, called Neoverse V2, in response to the demand, Beijing time reported on the morning of September 15.

Arm development technology, the formation of intellectual property rights, and then licensed to other enterprises to use. Most phones now use Arm technology, but it is also moving into the data center market, which used to be dominated by AMD and Intel.

Arm said that Ampere, Amazon, Fujitsu and Alibaba have developed data center processors with Arm technology, and that Neoverse V2 can improve energy efficiency, but it does not provide specific data.

Dermot O'Driscoll, vice president of product solutions at Arm, said of the new product: "our partners accept new technologies and they will develop very efficient solutions based on their specific areas of concern. So, from V1 to V2, we will see some very attractive data points."

Arm revealed that chip giant Nvidia's latest data center processor Grace first adopted the Neoverse V2 design.
