Sources say Samsung will return to the Russian market in October.
Beijing, September 15 (Xinhua) Samsung is expected to return to the Russian market this year after it suspended sales in Russia for half a year because of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, according to Russian informed media. It is understood that Samsung is expected to resume the supply of equipment to retailers and the opening of its official online store in October.
Samsung suspended shipments in early March 2022, citing "geopolitical developments". As of the fourth quarter of 2021, Samsung accounted for 30% of the Russian market and was a major supplier of Russian mobile phones.
A Samsung spokesman declined to respond to the incident.
Phoenix New Media Technology learned that in addition to Samsung's resumption of shipments in Russia after the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Russian Minister of Trade and Industry Dennis Manturov had previously said that Russian people would also have the opportunity to buy new Apple iPhone 14 series phones.
"Samsung suspends the export of mobile phones, chips and other products to Russia."
"Apple iPhone, Samsung phones and other electronic products began to enter Russia through parallel import channels."
