It is reported that these sedimentary rocks contain complex organic molecules called aromatic compounds, as well as sulfate minerals.

NASA has previously found organic matter on Mars. In 2013, the Curiosity rover found evidence of organic matter in rock samples. Organic matter was also found at the beginning of the landing of perseverance, but compared with previous discoveries, this discovery is very rich in organic matter.

According to reports, NASA needs to bring the samples of this discovery back to Earth in order to get more information. In 2026, NASA and the European Space Agency will launch two spacecraft to Mars. Using these two spacecraft, samples from the Mars rover perseverance will be sent to Earth in 2031.
