Ride-hailing giant Uber responded that it was hacked: sensitive data such as users' travel records were not compromised.

CTOnews.com, Sept. 17, according to the Wall Street Journal, on Friday, local time, ride-hailing giant Uber said the company's system was operating normally and there was no evidence that sensitive user data had been leaked. Earlier, a hacker claimed to have gained access to Uber's computer system.

Uber said the hacker attack did not appear to involve sensitive data such as users' travel records, adding that all its services were operating normally and that internal systems that had been shut down for protection had been brought back online.

CTOnews.com learned that Uber pointed out on social media that ride-hailing service Uber, food delivery service Uber Eats, freight service Uber Freight and Uber driver app Uber Driver are all running normally.

Earlier, Uber said on Thursday that its computer system had been compromised, alerted authorities and shut down several internal systems in an attempt to determine the extent of its network damage.
