Beijing, September 20 (Xinhua) Uber was hacked last week and temporarily shut down its internal communications system. On Monday, Uber claimed that the hacker was linked to the Lapsus$ hacker organization.

According to Uber, the hackers did not steal any user account information, nor did they have access to the database where sensitive information was stored. "the attackers have hacked into several internal systems, and the focus of our investigation is whether the attack has had a significant impact," Uber said. The investigation is continuing.

Friday's attack led to a brief shutdown of Uber's internal communications system, leaving employees only able to communicate with Slack using Salesforce messages.

After obtaining double authentication permission, the hacker accessed the contractor's Uber account, which in turn accessed the accounts and tools of several employees, such as G-Suite and Slack.

Lapsus$ has targeted Nvidia, Microsoft and Okta before. It is reported that the hacker named teapotuberhacker released a video game on Monday related to Take-Two Interactive Software's much-anticipated new game Grand Theft Auto 6. The hacker also sent a message on the forum saying that he was willing to negotiate with Take-Two.
