Sean Leiden, former CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment SIE, joined Tencent Games

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Nintendo for the clue that there are no tears! CTOnews.com Sept. 20, Sony Interactive Entertainment USA former CEO and global studio chairman Sean Leiden (Shawn Layden) announced on his LinkedIn blog today that he has joined Tencent Games as a strategic consultant.

CTOnews.com learned that Layden joined Sony's corporate communications division in Tokyo, Japan, in 1987 and worked as a communications assistant under Sony co-founder Morita Akio for several years. After that, Layden managed international software development at Sony computer Entertainment's London studio until 1999, when he became vice president of Sony computer Entertainment Europe.

After nearly nine years of service, he became president of Sony computer Entertainment Japan in October 2007 and held the position until March 2010. In 2010, he became a founding member of Sony Network Entertainment International and served as its executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Layden succeeded Jack Tretton as president and COO of Sony computer Entertainment USA in 2014 and became president of Sony Global Studios in 2018. He left Sony Interactive Entertainment on October 01, 2019.
