AMD releases 7020 series processors: 6nm Zen2 + RDNA2, built for entry-level notebooks

CTOnews.com September 20 news, tonight, AMD officially released 7020 series processors, using 6nm technology to build, using Zen2 CPU core + RDNA2 GPU core, Lenovo, Hewlett-Packard, Acer three notebooks will carry.

CTOnews.com learned that the new processors include the Xilong Gold 7220U, R3 7320U and R57520U, up to 4 cores and 8 threads, 8-15W TDP, equipped with Radeon 610m kernel display, and contains two RDNA2 computing units (128stream processors).

For this series of processors, AMD promises battery life of up to 12 hours for the notebooks.

In terms of kernel performance, the 7020 series processors use the latest display engine, which supports H.265 (HEVC), H.264 and AV1, as well as several older video formats, and provides hardware accelerated decoding.

In addition, the processors also support Windows 11 modern standby, voice wake-up, including Cortana and Alexa support, and Microsoft Ink and Microsoft modern device power management. Its hardware security features include Pluton and secure biological channels, making the chip fully capable of running Windows 11 in a commercial environment.

Lenovo, Hewlett-Packard and Acer are reportedly working with AMD to launch three products-Lenovo Ideapad 1 (14-inch), unnamed Hewlett-Packard 17-inch laptop and Acer Aspire 3 (15-inch), which will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2022.
