CTOnews.com September 22 news, today, IDC released a report that China's wearable device market shipments in the second quarter of 2022 was 28.57 million units, down 23.3% from the same period last year.

The headset market shipped 16.18 million units in the second quarter of 2022, down 23.2% from a year earlier. Of this total, shipments of true wireless headphones were 12.73 million, down 22.1% from the same period last year.

The watch market shipped 8.46 million units in the second quarter of 2022, down 12.3% from a year earlier. Of this total, 4.23 million were adult watches, down 14.5 percent from the same period last year, while shipments of children's watches were 4.24 million, down 10.0 percent from the same period last year.

The bracelet market shipped 3.83 million units in the second quarter of 2022, down 40.2 per cent from the same period last year.

The report points out that as the most potential adult watch market in the wearable market, the high-end trend is particularly obvious in the first half of 2022. Data show that shipments of products worth more than 2000 yuan (untaxed) continued to grow in the first half of 2022, with a year-on-year increase of 29%.

CTOnews.com has learned that IDC expects shipments of Chinese adult watches to fall by 3 per cent in 2022. Sales of adult watches in China are expected to grow by 8% in 2022.
